Details:
You can select a starting point by clicking on the bicycle-icon on the map.
For each point, multiple map-views are possible:
-
The time it will take you by bike to each part of a street
-
The time it will take you by car, plus a time-penalty of 15 min for the inner districts to find a parking spot.
You can see this effect by selecting the car layer at the default location
-
The ratio between those two, hence you can identify your personal comfort radius were a bike is suitable for you, depending on where you live
Computational wise, the time values on each street-element (colored line) are calculated pixel-wise via interpolation on different waypoints.
Therefore, one-ways are might show sometimes unexpected results if a waypoint from another street is close by.
This was necessary to reduce the computational costs; nevertheless they were still pretty high.
